Hi bloggers! Welcome to "Sistahs' on the RISE"! I suppose that you all are quite curious as to why I've chosen to name my blog sistah's on the rise...I've chosen this title simply because I feel as though I am at a point in my life where I truly believe the sky is the limit! More than ever before, there seem to be a lot of young, black, intellectual women striving for excellence by any means necessary--I consider myself to be included in this sub-category of black women in America today. I love to see sistahs stive beyond what is normally expected of them; I, myself, try my best to surround myself with positive, black, beautiful women who seek success and have the belief that failure is not an option--two of which are my bestfriends' Amber and Crinesha! [love you guys!]
Nevertheless, where I'm from, a small, country area, Southampton County, not too many of the young women there strive to very much in life...primarily as a result of having no one to really look up to or by limited means. Thus, beginning with this site and hopefully expanding later to a non-profit organization that seek to give back to the community and ultimately teach little black girls, young teens and black women that they can ultimately and truly achieve anything that they desire.
SN: Although a large portion of my blog will focus on the uplifting of my very own culture, I will also share political views, personal thoughts & opinions, and etc. Hope you guys enjoy reading my blog as much as I will enjoy writing it!!! Peace & Love.
